How to get RQ Mods
Install RQ Mods for free
here on the Chrome Web Store.
How to set up RQ Mods
Most of the features in RQ Mods work right out of the gate. To enable and disable features, or to set custom options, follow these steps:
- In Chrome, click the extensions icon (looks like a puzzl piece.) in the top-right corner of the program. A list of all your installed extensions will appear.
- In that menu, find RQ Mods, then click the menu icon (three dots) next to it.
- Click "Options." A new tab will open, which contains all the options for RQ Mods. On the right, you'll see some links to helpful information about RQ Mods.
- On the left, you'll find all the options you can change. There is a checklist of features. To disable a feature, click its checkbox to un-check it. Make sure to click the "Save" button in the top-right corner of the page once you're done.
- If you scroll down, you'll find more options on the left. See below for instructions on these specific sections.
How to set custom quick links:
Under "Custom Quick Links," you can enter up to three links and their names. The name is the text that will appear in RepairQ, and the link is the actual link to whichever webpage you choose.
Note: you must include 'www.' or 'https://' or 'http://' at the front of the link.
There is also a checkbox above each link, with the label "open as a frame." If this box is not checked, the link works just like a normal link on any website - you click the link and you go to that webpage. If you check the box, however, the webpage you have linked will open as frame right there in RepairQ. You can close this frame when you are done with it.
Note: some websites do not like being opened in frames like this.
For example, Google.com blocks this kind of frame for security reasons.
Nothing bad will happen if you try to open a frame with one of these
sites which block frames, but you will just see a big empty gray box,
and you'll have to just un-check the "open as a frame" box for that URL.
Make sure to click the "Save" button in the top-right corner of the page once you're done.
How to use the pattern recorder and pattern printer:
- While editing a ticket, look at the sidebar on the right. You should see a button for "UNLOCK PATTERN."
- Click that button. Something that looks kind of like a Samsung unlock pattern will appear.
- Click and hold your mouse on the first dot of the pattern, then drag your mouse across the rest of the dots in order, as if you were drawing the pattern on a touchscreen.
- Once your mouse cursor reaches the last dot, let go of your click.
- Click the "Copy & Close" button at the bottom of the screen.
- Find the field where you normally type the device's passcode. Right-click in that field, then click "paste."
- You'll see three pound symbols followed by some numbers. Leave that alone, as it's what will tell the pattern printer to do its thing when you print out a label for this ticket.
